One thing to think about in prayer is the state of mind of the person praying and how sometimes the style of prayer can be somewhat limiting which of course doesn’t automatically hinder results in any way but can be part of the picture of a faltering faith in prayer and the power of prayer. This can especially happen in a single minded persistent approach to prayer which can have the effect sometimes of isolating the thought process and sooner or later the belief systems attached to that thought process. Prayer itself can have wild connotations, and it can be as wild as the churning seas, and the staggering mysteries of space. Within all this can be one stamp of power from one prayer that can go to any corner of the globe on any issue. Some people feel, if only I was back at the time of Jesus and I was in his very presence and then I can get the true healing touch, the miracle I do want right now. I was at a Christian gathering and the host addressed this saying, even if we were back at the time of Jesus, we would have probably missed out by living in some other part of the world like upper Europe or Asia. The likely hood would have been we would miss a direct encounter with Jesus. But any individual prayer request you have can be linked to any event in the Bible including the walk around presence of Jesus or in history. You can link your prayer requests on what you do not quite believe to what you do see and do to an extent believe. An example of this could be a prayer saying, “ Jesus thank you for healing my aching back and healing the sick as you met them in the gospel times.” Lord, thank you from the rising of the sun and the rising of your angels to help me with my finances. Lord thank you from the crossing of the Red Sea and thank you for amazingly opening this door for me today. Lord, thank you for these wonderful mountains I am observing right now and the stars from creation that I am seeing in the sky and thank you for helping me with the uncertain and difficult finances. Lord, thank you for your helping presence in others and your presence to the world in meeting the needs of many and many, even as you met the needs of many in ancient times. Lord, thank you that as you spoke to Moses at the Mountain, you can speak to me as to what I should do here. The examples are endless but the idea is to link your prayer requests in any imaginable way that would be helpful to the building blocks of faith that in some ways have been lacking for you.
