It was Friday evening and for Peggy, the weekend could not start fast enough. There were so many things she wanted to do, errands to complete, and most of all, she wanted to relax a little bit. Her week at work had been overwhelming. She worked as a secretary for a dentist, and usually her weeks were fairly predictable and routine. This week however had been full of patients with problems, insurance issues, and another employee who managed to have a full mental breakdown in the office. Generally, it is not the best idea to throw objects at others out of frustration. Of course, that little outburst caused her to be asked to leave the office and it went down hill from there. In hindsight, it was comical to see little plastic mouths and toothbrushes flying around the office, being hurled as if they were real weapons. But Peggy did not like the feeling it left with her. To see someone having such a hard time and taking it out on others only make the problem bigger. Peggy really needed to get in some relaxing. She had originally planned to get an oil change on her way home, but instead Peggy opted for a margarita. That would start her weekend off right. Saturday she went to the mall. She had some returns to do, wanted to check out a few new items at some of her favorite stores, and hoped to find the perfect pair of shoes for her upcoming vacation. She was meeting a friend for a late lunch and thought that afterward the two of them could hunt down a present for a baby shower they were both attending the following weekend. For whatever reason, walking around a mall always had a calming effect for Peggy. By the time she got to lunch, Peggy was in a great mood. All remnants of the office stress were gone. After a delicious lunch and a successful baby purchase, Peggy could not believe it was 8 o'clock at night. She looked forward to going home and getting into bed with a good book, deciding that her oil change could wait until the next day. Sunday came and Peggy got up, mowed her yard, and went to yoga class. On her way home she stopped at the grocery store to get things for the week, managed to get an oil change, and even remembered to pick up her dry cleaning. As Sunday evening rolled around, she felt great about the weekend and hoped the week ahead would be much calmer than last week at the office!
