When I say "imitating success", I mean find a mentor, do what they tell you to do, and follow their advice very carefully. Some people are too busy to stop and mentor you, so the mentors that you do find for free, you will have to listen to their every word. Who do you think will help you out more? Yourself who is struggling to make money online, or a mentor who has been doing this successfully for the past 5 years? Get under some good wisdom, and your learning curve will be cut short by a large margin. I was fortunate to receive this good guidance. And now I'm earning the money in the business that I am looking for. But sometimes, you may not have the time, resources, or money to hire and talk to a mentor. So what should you do then? Well, you will have to go at it alone. Don't get down about this, it happens - it's just a natural occurrence in life. But as long as you don't give up, you can see the success in your business that you are looking for. You will want to start with some basic principles of internet marketing. You will want to explore paid advertising options as well as free marketing options. I personally am a big fan of paid advertising because the traffic is fast, targeted, and I can test things out on the fly. But I'm a fan of free marketing as well. With free marketing, you get to earn 100% profits on every sale that you make. But the results won't come as fast as the paid advertising options will. Nevertheless, you should still do the free marketing. You should do the free marketing for a wide variety of reasons. They don't just stop at 100% profits. With free marketing, you can lower your advertising costs, gain repeat buyers, boost your conversion rates, become an expert in your niche, and even collaborate with others and do joint ventures. All of this is possible with free marketing, but if you want traffic now and want to see sales right away... you will want to do paid advertising. So even if you don't have a mentor to follow and "copy and clone" their success, you can still do a few things on your own. But if you want some massive success without the trial and error, and you want to streamline your internet marketing... you will want to hire a mentor or consultant. You can't blame them for charging for their services either. The good ones have a proven track record, and for you to suggest consulting for free is almost like an insult to them. Expect not to hear a reply from these people. That's just the way that things are when it comes to business in general - online or offline.
