Kevin Scott Konarzewski is a leader in the supply chain management business. Kevin Scott Konarzewski is a graduate of Michigan State University where he obtained his master’s degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management. After excelling in his undergraduate classes at Northern Michigan University, Kevin Scott Konarzewski had decided to pursue a career in supply chain management. Immediately following his graduation, Kevin Scott Konarzewski was offered a position as the Value Chain Transformation Manager at IBM where he served for nine years. The position at IBM helped kick-start Kevin Scott Konarzewski’s career in the industry. In 2006, Kevin Scott Konarzewski was offered a position at Honeywell Aerospace as the Materials Manager. After two years of serving in that position, Kevin Scott Konarzewski went on to work at Teleflex as the Demand Planning Manager. Kevin Scott Konarzewski possessed superior management experience after holding these jobs, which led him to create his own company, Complete Inventory Services. As the owner of Complete Inventory Services, Kevin Scott Konarzewski is in charge of the important hiring process. Kevin Scott Konarzewski also assisted in the hiring process at IBM, Honeywell, and Teleflex. Throughout his experience, Kevin Scott Konarzewski noticed that résumés often lacked the professionalism they required to be noticed, and here he offers tips on how to construct the perfect résumé. - Know the purpose of your résumé. Kevin Scott Konarzewski notes that it is okay to have different versions of your résumé. It is crucial that you play up your strengths that are related to the position you are applying for. Kevin Scott Konarzewski notes that you should also back up your qualities with strengths so employers do not think you are over exaggerating your qualifications.
- Bullet points. Kevin Scott Konarzewski states that employers will receive multiple applications and they do not have time to read large descriptive paragraphs. Be sure to use bullet points throughout your résumé to make it concise and to the point.
- Highlight your achievements, not your responsibilities. Kevin Scott Konarzewski states that listing your day-to-day job functions is boring. Instead, you should focus on highlighting your achievements while holding the position.
- Do not list all of your work experiences (if applicable). Kevin Scott Konarzewski states that if you worked at a fast food restaurant while you were in high school—you do not need to include that on your professional résumé. Unless a job is going to help you get the position you are applying for, avoid listing it.
