Inteva Products Announces Student Scholarship Winners for ConnectThe Sky Design Competition TROY, MI -- May 17, 2012 : Inteva Products today announced the student scholarship winnersfor its Connect the Sky Roof Systems design competition at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) awarding the Innovation grand prize to Jeeho Cha , a junior, for his Scenic OLED (organic light-emitting diode)Sunroof Experience concept and the Insight award to Matt Scarchilli , a freshman for his Solar OLED Sunroof Experience concept. Bothstudents are enrolled in LTU's College of Architecture and Designparticipating in the Transportation Design & Industrial Designprogram led by Professor Keith Nagara . Inteva's scholarship competition invited design students to explore"experience attributes" of Inteva's Full Panoramic Roof Systemportfolio from an interior vehicle perspective. Students werechallenged to explore design concepts incorporating such attributesas freedom, light, space, personality, and energy. Cha developed an innovative approach that grants vehicle occupantsthe power, within the vehicle, to adjust the outside environmentperception so that the interior view from the panoramic glass roofreflects not the actual environment, but a desired one. At anytime, in any weather, the driver has the ability to adjust theinside visual settings of their vehicle's panoramic sunroof toproject images ranging from a snowy sky to an underwater adventure. Scarchilli's design uses touch-sensitive OLED screen tiles. Duringthe day, the driver and passengers are able to control the amountof light entering the vehicle by touching desired tiles. Atnight-time, the users have the option to touch particular tilesthat will illuminate for personal convenience.
