Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a very general form of theory with similarities with other therapies. This therapy is based on stoic philosophy. The behavior teaches patients the benefits of managed behavior and responses undesirable situations. Cognitive behavioral therapy uses Socratic Method. The therapist must gain a very good understanding of what the patient is going through and also equally encourage them to ask questions if they are concerned about some of the problems they are facing as a patient. This therapy is structured and directive with different agenda for each session. Therapists teach their client to learn techniques and concepts that are focused on clients’ goals. It helps clients clarify their goals and determine what they can tolerate. Although the therapist cannot tell the patient how or what to do, they help train their clients to respond appropriately in specific situations. The CBT is an educational model and is attached to the fact that emotional and behavioral actions are learned. It is an education model that relies on inductive method.
