TaylorMade kicked off a revolution in golf by reintroducing metal drivers in 1979. PGA Tour players earn their living by performing and competing at the highest level of the game. Their equipment is custom fitted to their swings, and players often provide feedback which plays a part in the clubs' design process. The TaylorMade R11S driver is a refined version of the previous R11 driver. ]
R11S driver looks excellent with a nice rounded head and the white colour scheme that TaylorMade have almost trademarked does help you line up easily. The sound and feel are very good and together with the adjustable options in the hosel and the head weights you should be able to get a set up that gets the trajectory and distance you require.
The key changes are the adjustable hosel that now has an extra 0.5 degrees of loft either way and the adjsutable sole plate that now has 5 lie options instead of 3. The extra degree on the loft range is a good development and enables a more noticeable change in flight performance. The extra options on the sole plate are also welcome and something we suggested was required when the Taylormade R11 driver was launched, so we are glad they have taken our suggestion on board!
The R-11s allows the golfer to adjust the "effective"loft of the driver plus or minus one and one half percent either way .So a 10.5 driver can be "tuned" by the user to play between 9 and 11.5 degrees. This is done by adjusting the face angle open or closed . Although not really a true loft adjustment, it works OK.
Next comes the shaft. The stock shaft on the R11s is a pretty good stock shaft. No better or worse than the stock shaft on the competition. Where a player can really fine tune the cheap golf clubs australia is by going to a clubfitter and getting fit for a premium shaft (Figure $150-$400 or more). Again most golfers are never going to do this. So off the rack the R11s is as good a driver for the average golfer as there is on the market.
The driver can be adjusted to change the loft and even compensate slightly for a consistent hook or slice in your shot. The driver is super light and allows you to generate tremendous speed to the club head.
