5 Ways to Shop: From Boutiques to Thrifting

Business
Feeling like your wardrobe is a bit more dated than you might like? If you're one of the many who feel like shopping is a pain, maybe you just aren't looking in the right places. While wearing that same button down shirt from eight years ago might seem passable, chances are that we could all use a little update. Here are five different ways to shop, from boutiques to thrifting.

Boutiques

While many of us find ourselves wearing the generic brand names plastered across billboards in every city in the United States, there are more options! Taking a stroll down the main shopping thoroughfares in your city is bound to turn up some worthwhile boutiques that stock interesting or unique clothing that is sure to catch the eye of a passerby.

Outlets

For shopping on a budget, look no further than outlet malls to find great deals on the brands you trust. Often located outside major city centers, these discounted shopping centers sell the leftover clothing manufactured by big retailers but that haven't yet sold in the main stores. The savvy shopper is bound to find styles they love at a price they can afford.

Shopping Malls

As anyone raised in Suburbia will tell you, malls are the be-all, end-all of consumer spending. Often stocking the same major brands in cities across the country, these meccas of clothing worship offer a vast array of options to choose from, catering to styles for men and women of any taste, not to mention clothing for the kids. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a familiar and delicious slice of pizza from the Mall food court.

Online

As the world begins to transition into the digital age, more and more people are turning to the Internet in search of smaller brands and better deals unavailable in the local areas. While most larger brands offer their clothing in online stores as well as their physical locations, a bevy of smaller brands and fashion startups are available only online. If you can brave the fact that you won't be able to try on the clothing before you buy, the ease and convenience of online shopping might be the way to go for you. Just don't expect everything to show up on your doorstep quite how it appeared on the model in the photograph.

Thrift Stores

For the patient of us, the ones who don't mind sifting through piles of sweaters and rows of hanging pants, thrift stores offer bargain basement prices on unique, funky, and vintage threads that are guaranteed to stand out from your peers. While many of the stores stock whatever they can find, a good thrift store will curate their offerings to a specific look, catering to the artistic hipster aesthetic that populates their stores. If you're looking to overhaul your wardrobe on a budget, thrift stores are going to be your best friend.

So there you have it, from boutiques to thrift stores, there's a special niche for all of the shoppers out there. Time to get shopping!
