Traditionally the word bespoke was used to refer to custom made garments which were ordered by customers and created by talented tailors just for them. They would fit perfectly, and by just right for purpose. Now bespoke has come to be used for all sorts of different products, including bespoke kitchens. It can describe anything which is made to order by talented crafts people (although the talent isn’t necessarily a part of the definition, more something we hope for!). Specifications use the measurements of the room as well as the customer’s individual taste and the way they use their kitchen in order to garner the perfect fit, just like they would if they were making clothing. There are all sorts of different ways the room can be customised; the only limiting factors tend to be budget and imagination! A bespoke kitchen suits any room size and shape Modern kitchens are often available to buy from home improvement stores, although this is not always the best choice. These rely on fair standardised sizes, so in a small kitchen they can easily look overwhelming, or in a large kitchen they might look too delicate. They tend to be made for a budget option, which means the quality of the materials used is substandard, and elements are likely to need replacing much more quickly than most people would like. If you buy a bespoke kitchen you can guarantee that you’ll be buying fixtures which look great in your room, and aren’t cutting corners on prices. This doesn’t even necessarily mean that the end product will be more expensive, it will just mean that you’ll get exactly what you want. The right aesthetic and style for you You can tell by the different ways that everyone decorates their homes that everyone’s tastes are incredibly diverse. It makes sense then, that the way everyone wants their kitchen is pretty different as well. Some people will use their space for a lot of cooking whilst others will mainly entertain. For some it’s a functional, practical space, while for others it’s an extension of their living space. Readymade kitchens simply can’t accommodate all these different tastes, and while there might be something which is completely perfect for you, the overwhelming likelihood is that they won’t be quite right. If you can’t afford a bespoke kitchen it’s possible to find a ‘nearly right’ version, but if possible we would always recommend that you save up and make sure you buy a quality product which is just right for you.
