Performing an executive search can be one of the most time consuming tasks that need to be performed. Whether you need a CEO, a CFO, a Director of Marketing, or any other executive, you know that they need to be the cream of the crop. They have to have the education and experience as required for the position and have the attitude and personality that will fit well within your work culture. It can take you hours to contact all of the newspapers to have an ad created. You are then going to spend a few more hours to add the job opening into the various websites that will post openings for you. This time spent is just to begin the executive search so that you can begin receiving resumes. It may take a week or longer before all of the posts are live. This means you have to play the waiting game in order to get resumes electronically or by mail. You will have to spend a lot of time checking your email and the mail to see what comes in that will work for the executive position that you need to hire for. After the resumes come in, you now have to spend time going through each one manually to see if they have the education and experience that you require. Many people will submit resumes in for a position that they don't qualify for in the hopes that they can be considered – or considered for another position. This means that you are going to have to look carefully at the resumes and you will have more than what you can handle. The executive search is going to take weeks because you have hundreds if not thousands of resumes to dig through. This is time that you cannot afford because you need to find someone to fill this position quickly. The productivity and overall efficiency of your business may depend on it. You can hire a professional recruiter to help you. All you have to do is send the recruiter the name of the position that you need to fill, a job description, and the salary range that you are willing to pay. After that, the recruiter may meet with you in person, take a tour of your business to learn about the culture, and then get started. The recruiter will perform the executive search on their behalf. This means you won't spend any time posting the job, looking for resumes, reading the resumes, or anything else. A recruiter can do a lot for you. He or she can conduct the preliminary interviews, drug test, background check, and everything else that you might need. This means that the resumes of people that do finally cross your desk are all capable of being hired. You make the final hiring decision based upon the professional recommendation of the recruiter. You can conduct final interviews to meet with the individuals. From there, you hire a person knowing that they are going to be a good fit.
