KABUL, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Three NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members were killed in an attack and another one died in non-battle-related injury in Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to an ISAF press release received by Xinhua on Thursday. "Three International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern Afghanistan" on Wednesday, said the news release. "In a separate incident, one ISAF service member died as a result of a non-battle related injury in southern Afghanistan" on Wednesday. The news release, as usual, said it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities. Afghan Taliban has launched massive IED attacks against ISAF and Afghan national security force in recent years. The fatalities of NATO-led forces this year, according to iCasualties, has been registered 459 so far, and 394 of them were killed in IED attacks. Forty-nine countries are contributing some 130,000-strong forces in Afghanistan with some 100,000 of them Americans mainly stationed in the east and south, followed by Britain which has 9, 500 troops mainly stationed in the south.
