Take a glass of water with impurities in it; stir the water once; so that all the impurities rise up to the surface; then drop a piece of activated charcoal in the glass. You will then see how the impurities get attached to the piece of activated carbon instantly and the water becomes crystal clear. This experiment shows how activated charcoal works in the human body when ingested. The pores in the activated charcoal make it highly suitable for medicinal uses, because it helps in trapping the unwanted chemicals of the body. It is a life saver in many cases; even if the person who ingests it might have to suffer a couple of side-effects like - Black tongue, Black stools, Constipation, Vomiting or diarrhea. Activated charcoal is a man made product and is not available to the body in any natural form.
