If you run a commercial laundry then you will know that when it comes down to how your customers perceive the quality of your work to be, then a lot of this will be down to the final commercial laundry finishing / ironing of their garments. If your finishing is poor then you will not keep customers long, particularly if you let down people who rely on very well finished uniforms for front of house staff. Whilst an element of how well your garments are finished will be down to how well trained your staff are, a large part of it will be down to how well your finishing machines operate and what type of finishing machines that you are using. Finishing machines comes in a wide variety of sizes from ones that are designed for small to medium output, which are hand operated by the operator, through to high output finishers that use large rollers for continuous finishing services. The small size finishing machines typically feature a commercial grade iron and ironing table. The medium sized machines tend to feature a hinged press operation, which is ideal for a hotel running its own small laundry. Spot press finishing machines are also available for more detailed work. A roller finishing machine can come in a variety of widths from 1.2 metres to around 3.1 metres, with some featuring heated options this can mean that washing can be taken straight from a high speed spin washer and ironed, without the need for separate drying, thus speeding up the whole laundry process. The diameter of the rollers typically varies from 22 cm to 51 cm. Obviously for a commercial laundry the choice of roller length and width will depend on the type of work that you will be carrying out. So the final choice of machine you choose will be down to your expected customer base, but a good laundry equipment supplier will be able to advise on the best machine for your needs. Lastly we come to maintenance, as this is simply one of the most important things to consider when it comes to buying commercial laundry equipment. Having got the best deal and bought the cheapest machine you can, it is not worth anything if the machine breaks down and you cannot get it repaired fast. You need to have a maintenance agreement that covers you 365 days per annum, 24 hours per day. As you can guarantee that your equipment will break down when you need it most, and if you only have one finishing machine this means no ironing until it is fixed.
