Step1. Choose a theme
Whether it is Mystery, Science Fiction, Romance, or something else, try to choose a theme that appeals to you. Writing will come easier if it is a theme you can connect with.
Step2. Create characters
Once you have a theme, it is time to start creating your characters. Write down names that you think think of, and start building their personalities. Every story should have a protagonist, and depending on the story, an antagonist.
Step3. Choose a setting
Where do you want your story to take place? It can be in the city, or the county, at a beach, or in the antartic. You may want to choose something that is familiar to you, so you can be more descriptive.
Step4. Create a phot
Think about what you want to happen in this story. What is the focal point, or the main events? What will be the main purpose of your characters? To keep the readers interest, it is a good idea to have a lot of interaction between characters.
Step5. Combine Everything
Now it is time to put all together, and add as much detail as you can. You want to people to be able to picture it as they read.
