Front Entrance Your front door naturally sets the mood for the rest of your home. By covering your entrance with handmade spiders and black and white pumpkins, your home will instantly get a spooky vibe, before visitors have even walked through the front door. Front Door Who says all front door decorations have to be wreaths? Black and white monogrammed decor—along with spiders and cobwebs—create quite the eerie entrance. Foyer Hang these spirited fellows—made of cheesecloth—from the light fixture in your foyer. Make sure guests watch their heads! Dining Room Hutch Though barely noticeable, adding a trail of ants to a dining room hutch will make guests jump in surprise when they walk through your dining room. Kitchen Cabinet Trade out your regular coffee mugs for Halloween-inspired ones. Orange-and-black October 31 plates also add a pop of color. Side Table Blogger Nina created this "apothescary vignette" (get it?) by channeling her inner mad scientist and decorating with an old Victorian book, faux cobwebs, and black candles. Hallway Reflective paint is this hallway mirror's secret. You can use any frame with glass to create this spectral sight. Curtains Glam up your house's curtains with these slithering snake tiebacks. Windows This project uses an image of any building—be it your home, or a ghoulish landmark like the Bates Motel—to transform a standard glass votive holder into a window scene. Stairwell Black stickers and mini pumpkins turn otherwise plain stairs into an unexpected spot to showcase some warning messages. Bedroom Devil horns may be the stuff of nightmares, but this clever project is a dream to make. Bathroom Literal "creature comforts," these sink-side spectacles require soap molds, extra-clear soap base, and plastic bug toys. Bathroom Yes, even your bathroom deserves the Halloween treatment, and this crocheted toilet cover is an easy and affordable way to add some festive flair. Guest Bedroom Spook guests with a cluster of crocheted doily spiderwebs. Secure a dangling spider to the frame to complete the look. Kids' Room These beautiful, dramatic spider webs—made out of black garbage bags—are the perfect accessory for your kids' rooms. Jack-O'-Lanterns in a Jiffy Turn orange tissue-paper balls into proper Halloween pumpkins that can line your front porch. Simply cut facial features and stems from construction paper and apply to the balls with glue dots. Ghouls' Night Out To call forth this gathering, use glue dots to stick construction-paper eyes and mouths onto white tissue-paper bells, then drape them with cheesecloth. Effortlessly Eerie Living Room These decorating tricks are so easy, it's frightening. Take a page out of Miss Havisham's book and use sheet-draped chairs to give your room the look of ruin. Then, string a cheesecloth "cobweb" across a mirror and secure curly willow branches in candlesticks with museum wax (Quakehold, $4.99 for two ounces; amazon). Black Paper Flowers Take typical harbingers of good cheer to the dark side. This shadowy floral arrangement is made from inexpensive crepe-paper streamers. Phantom Presence Keep up ghostly appearances with this witty reflection. Draw a figure on the back of a sheet of frosted window film(Remlor, $14.95 for a 24"W roll; amazon.com). Cut out the silhouette, as well as its eyes and mouth, with an X-Acto knife. Apply the film to a mirror, smoothing as you go. Food Centerpiece A centerpiece of fruits and nuts in moody hues puts a macabre spin on an entertaining staple. Black Wreath This eerie wreath is made from the same crepe paper streamers as the black bouquet. Floating Witch Hats Stefanie of Brooklyn Limestone suspended a few witch hats from the ceiling and propped a rustic broom against the wall for a simple yet eerie entryway look. Mummy Mason Jars Cassie of Hi Sugarplum! used Mason jars she already had on her table, dollar store gauze, and googly eyes to make these spooky votives. Pick Your Poison Desirée of The 36th Avenue used dark glass stain and chalkboard paint to transform ordinary glass bottles into witches' poisons. Floating Head Ghosts Foam mannequin heads and cheese cloth are the keys to these creepy porch decorations by Ashley Phipps of Simply Designing. Magic Potions Mother and daughter team Jeanette and Leigh of Crafty in Crosby spray painted wine bottles of varying sizes, and added labels, twine, candle wax, and plastic toys to make these spooky potion vessels. Hovering Candles Spray paint cardboard rolls and affix battery-operated tea lights to the tops for these wizardry candles. See more atDe Su Mama and Harry Potter Party Ideas. Spider's Lair Jessica of How About Orangecreated these beautiful, dramatic spider webs out of black garbage bags. To make your own, you'll need a black Sharpie, a pair of scissors, some tape, and these instructions. Night Owl Carrie of Making Lemonadeturned a thrift store find into this sinister looking owl. Make your own creepy menagerie by spray painting plastic or ceramic animals and adding red glitter or glow-in-the dark paint to their eyes.
