Furnishing a bedroom is about expressing yourself. It is about building a room that reflects what you find interesting, what you find comforting, and what you find important. When you walk into your bedroom, you should feel like you are walking into a piece of yourself. If you are part of a couple, the bedroom should not only reflect bits and pieces of your individuality but also the most intimate parts of that relationship. Your bedroom should remind you of why you're together. With so much hinging on the way your bedroom looks and feels, it is a good idea to look carefully for the perfect modern bedroom furniture in Seattle. Look at Your Space When it comes to building a truly beautiful and comfortable bedroom, the first thing you need to take into consideration is your space. Do you have a large bedroom or a small one? Is it basically rectangular in shape or is it more unique? The space you have will determine what kind of furniture you can use and how you can arrange it. The biggest challenge to any bedroom is, of course, the bed. It's big, especially if you're part of a couple, and it will always be the center of attention. The trick is getting the right accessories to go with it. Consider Your Floor Plan As you envision your new bedroom, take into consideration how you will need to move around it. Is there a walk-in closet? A bathroom? Things like this will determine the traffic pattern of the room which, in turn, will determine what pieces of furniture go where. If you have a bathroom and a walk-in closet, be sure your furniture doesn't get in the way of your movement in and out of those rooms. A good way to make sure your bedroom flows nicely is to go through your morning routine in your head. How can you arrange things to make it as efficient as possible? Dress Your Windows Another thing you probably didn't realize you need is a great view, right away. Nothing makes a room feel more welcoming than a view of the great outdoors. Have you ever noticed that when you open the door to a hotel room, the blinds or curtains are open? The natural light that filters in from the outdoors makes rooms appear larger, brighter, and more cheerful. Who doesn't want that? If your bedroom has a large window, take the time and spend the money to dress it well. If you really want to take it to the next level, consider improving the landscaping that is part of your view out that window! Match Your Furniture and Space When it comes to placing your furniture, do your best to make sure it doesn't cover any windows, outlets, or vents. In the case of small bedrooms, this can be really difficult, especially if you have large, heavy furniture. In order to create a beautiful and functional bedroom space, it is best if furniture matches the size of the room. While large, ornate furniture may be beautiful to look at, it will completely take up what little space you have and create a bedroom that always feels dirty and cluttered. Modernize Your Look If you want furniture that is easy to fit into both small and large spaces, modern furniture is certainly the way to go. Unlike more traditional furniture, modern pieces are created with simplicity and movement in mind. While modern pieces may look minimalist compared to their large and weighty predecessors, they are full of life and movement. If you're unfamiliar with some of the more modern looks that are gracing the Parade of Homes, consider visiting a retailer specializing in modern bedroom furniture in Seattle.
