Japan is really one of my favorite destinations whenever I want to have a vacation with my family and friends. I found folk crafts, foods and even clothes that are all Swedish in style. And according to one resident that I interviewed, they also celebrate traditional Swedish holidays in their town. Moreover, the architectural designs of the buildings and homes in the town are all European in style. In addition, Ron Virmani and I found it astonishing that this town in Japan managed to have the same characteristics with Sweden which is 8,000 km or 5,000 miles away from Sweden. Experts say that this good relationship between Japan and Sweden actually began 30 years ago. The actual planning for the creation of the Sweden Hills in Japan began in 1979. Ron Virmani also told me that as of 2005, there are already around 550 residents in Sweden Hills. Also, the residents of Sweden Hills are practicing Swedish culture. In fact, residents of the town have learned the language of Sweden and they enjoy wearing traditional Swedish outfits during parties and festivals.
