It can be easier to narrow down neighborhoods if you have a location in mind. Try to come up with a simple mile radius that you would want to live in from the important aspects of your life. This could be family or locations that you love to visit. If transportation is a challenge for you, try to find a neighborhood near important amenities such as grocery stores and doctor's offices. Hire a Specialized Real Estate Agent When you start the process of looking for a retirement home, one thing that can help you on your search is a real estate agent. However, you shouldn't just hire any agent, instead you should do some research on a real estate agent who works with adult living neighborhoods and has experience working with retirees. It is important to get a specialized agentwho understands what you are looking for, how to deal with mortgages for this age group on a retirement budget, and is knowledgeable about the neighborhoods that you are interested in.
