Java is a general-purpose computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. Java's aim is to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" meaning that compiled Java code can run on all platforms that support Java without the need for recompilation. There were five primary goals in the creation of the Java language: It must be "simple, object-oriented, and familiar". It must be "robust and secure". It must be "architecture-neutral and portable". It must execute with "high performance". It must be "interpreted, threaded, and dynamic". Originally Java was developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which has since been acquired by Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++, but it has fewer low-level facilities than either of them. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. This is the reason why Java can be found not only on computers, desktops and laptops, but also on mobile devices. Java programmers may need to follow a course in order to learn how to optimize the language for these devices as well as obtain Java Certification. Java certification is necessary because As of 2016, Java is one of the most popular programming languages in use, particularly for client-server web applications, with a reported 9 million developers. Java developers can now obtain Java certification to prove their ability to use the programming language. There are now Java courses available as well as self study sites where you can learn the fundamentals of the programme and take the exam needed to obtain Java certification. Java Fundamentals training introduces you to object-oriented programming using the Java language. Through hands-on exercises, you'll begin to build a baseline of knowledge to propel your career in development. In order to obtain Java Certification you need to learn how to: Use Java programming language constructs to create a Java technology application. Use decision and looping constructs and methods to dictate program flow. Understand basic object oriented concepts such as inheritance, encapsulation, and abstraction. Use and manipulate object references, and to write simple error handling code. Use the new SE 8 java.time and java.time.format packages to format and print the local date and time. Specify a data modification by passing a predicate lambda expression to the Collections class. When taking a Java Certification course, you'll expand your knowledge of Java SE 8 to such a level you will out do your development competitors, while building your Java skill set with the certificate to prove it. But most importantly you'll build a solid basis in the Java programming language upon which to base continued work and training. If you opt for a self study option there are websites that allow you to follow a predetermined lesson plan and try your abilities on practise tests ensuring that you have reached the desired level before shelling out for the actual test.
