ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and can affect all ages and continue into adulthood. This is a mental disorder that is commonly diagnosed in children if they are hyperactive but not able to control their impulses. They may also have trouble with paying attention both in school and at home. - Do parental or behavioral therapy—if the child has a severe case of ADHD this type of therapy can help. In younger children with ADHD, behavioral therapy should be the first step that is used to treat them. It helps to resolve certain problematic behaviors along with offering solutions to help prevent them from happening. One thing is to set up goals and rules, as these two things go together when using this type of therapy. Parental therapy is when the parents are provided with the things they need to help the child with their ADHD.
- Trying EEG biofeedback—this is a type of neurotherapy that measures the brain waves of the child and during the treatment, the child learns new focusing techniques.
