Radiohead tickets are now available and can be bought or sold online at StubHub.com. Attracting everyone from the indie-rock crowd to mainstream listeners and electronica enthusiasts, Radiohead has a very wide appeal. But undeniably, part of the band’s central appeal, and what keeps people buying Radiohead tickets, is the crooning, sweeping voice of Thom Yorke. He’s the band’s vocalist and most prominent face, occasionally also stepping in to help with art design under the pseudonym "Dr. Tchock." But despite the fact that the band has been Yorke’s primary creative outlet, his voice has been lent to several other projects over the years. Here’s a list of where you can hear him and a bit about what it sounds like. "Rabbit in Your Headlights," U.N.K.L.E., Psyence Fiction If you’ve never seen the amazing, haunting video for this song, make sure you check it out on YouTube. The video itself has some arresting images, with a crazed street person walking along inside a tunnel, oblivious to the dangerously close passing cars. Eventually, he’s hit, but gets up and keeps going. The tortured psychological implications behind the video are well-suited to the themes that Yorke often explores with Radiohead. But lending his voice to this guest track was a fabulous idea. His voice sounds ethereal as he half-moans the words, like an angel suffering. "This Mess We’re In," PJ Harvey, Stories From the City, Stories from the Sea The fabulous PJ Harvey has some stirring songs on this 2000 release, none more so than this soft duet she sings with Thom Yorke. Their voices begin isolated, singing their stanzas without interruption, then become entangled in a plaintive call-and-response that perfectly mirrors the emotional spider web the couple the song is about have crawled into. Velvet Goldmine Soundtrack, The Venus in Furs Borrowing their name from the Velvet Underground’s infamous song about S&M, Yorke and a backing band do a fabulous job covering some of glam’s most popular and influential tunes. Yorke and company cover Roxy Music’s "2HB" and "Ladytron," along with Eno’s "Baby’s On Fire." The Eraser, Thom Yorke Of course, you can’t talk about Yorke’s alternative creative outlets without mentioning his brilliant solo record. The 2006 album is a soft affair, filled with quiet electronic loops and noises hovering under Yorke’s soaring voice, like little lighting bugs darting about the underbrush as a strong wind passes over them. It’s a beautiful record, and any Radiohead fan that enjoyed Kid A is encouraged to seek it out. Written by Andrew Good and sponsored by StubHub.com.
