Two years later, they released A Rush of Blood to the Head, which made them international superstars. The record was largely propelled by the singles "Clocks," "The Scientist" and "In My Place," all of which became inescapable on the air waves. A follow-up, X&Y, was given a lukewarm reception by critics, but that didn’t stop the record from selling 8 million copies in its first year. The band followed up by working with legendary producer and electronic artist Brian Eno, issuing Viva La Vida! in 2008.
