Guns ‘N’ Roses tickets are now available and can be bought or sold online at StubHub.com. Fans of Guns ‘N’ Roses have been waiting since the mid-‘90s to hear something—anything—from the infamous bad boys of rock ‘n’ roll. Now, after reportedly spending millions of dollars recording it, and having its release delayed time after time, Chinese Democracy, the first Guns ‘N’ Roses record since the early ‘90s, will finally be coming out. Billboard announced on Sept. 26 that the band would be releasing its new record by the end of 2008, though an exact date couldn’t be specified. The band will be releasing the new album exclusively through Best Buy, though any fans of the hit video game Rock Band will be able to play along to one of the album’s singles, "Shackler’s Revenge," on the game’s new sequel, Rock Band 2. With Guns ‘N’ Roses going on tour, fans will undoubtedly be anticipating that they will be performing some of the hits off the record—or even some of the non-hits. The album has been regarded as such a holy grail over the years that diehard Guns ‘N’ Roses listeners would be thrilled with anything the band could give them. The band’s meteoric rise to become a rock institution began in 1987, when they released their breakthrough debut album, Appetite for Destruction. It’s still considered a classic today, and topped the charts in the ‘80s. Their follow up, 1989’s G ‘N’ R Lies, included four new songs and the songs off their first EP. It wasn’t the masterpiece that Appetite was, but then returned to their role as rock superstars with 1991’s User Your Illusions, a meandering double disc that was as ambitious as it was uneven. 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident, a covers album filled with punk songs, came afterward, no doubt at a time when Guns ‘N’ Roses was still trying to find their bearings in the rock landscape, which had suddenly become effused with alternative rock and grunge. Fans have been waiting since then. And it looks like their patience will soon pay off. This article was written by Andrew Good and sponsored by StubHub.
