The Plastics Division launches a new range of products made from “environmentally friendly” materials at Cosmoprof in Bologna. Just a few days before the exhibition opens its doors (2nd-5th April), and fair-goers can't wait to find out more about the range of bottles in recycled and renewable materials. With Ecological, the Plastics Division of Bormioli Rocco scores another goal for environmental protection and sustainability. There's great anticipation as regards the new range of bottles made from recycled, biodegradable and renewable materials, which will be unveiled at the forthcoming edition of Cosmoprof. At the Bologna exhibition which runs from 2nd to 5th April, a great deal of attention will be devoted to packaging, environmental impact and recycling. Which is why the spotlights will be turned on hall 19 (stand 33) and Ecological, which includes bottles in 100% post consumer recycled PET, recycled HDPE, PLA and “PE Green”. Low environmental impact and extensive scope for personalization distinguish 100% post consumer recycled PET, another forte of the Ecological range and of the group's proposals made from innovative materials. This polymer offers superior transparency compared to many similar products and the same clarity as virgin PET. More and more companies are using it to create distinctive, “environmentally friendly” packaging which can win over end consumers who are increasingly preoccupied with protecting our planet. In particular, some major sector companies will soon launch Bormioli Rocco cosmetic bottles in recycled PET. The partnership founded between Bormioli Rocco and a leading producer of recycled materials has led to the launch of R-HDPE bottles. A first sample lot has already been produced and test results have been extremely positive in terms of quality and ease of processing. Recycled HDPE is ideal for the production of jars, bottles and caps and, what's more, it can be decorated. Thanks to constant research, the Plastics Division is one of the first producers of plastic packaging for cosmetics to launch R-HDPE on the market. PLA, a biodegradable resin made from sweetcorn, is also “Ecological” and the protagonist of a range of standard and custom cosmetic plastic bottles. Already used for ranges of natural products such as detergents and emulsions for hair, these bottles offer outstanding design with soft, curvy lines. Packaging of plant origin represents value added that can prove decisive in a market that tends to reward companies which are attentive to environmental issues. Among the environmentally sustainable materials proposed by Bormioli Rocco is PE green. This polyethylene is green by name and by nature, being composed of 100% renewable materials. It has all the same characteristics as traditional PE. In addition, it is recyclable and the manufacturing process involves lower carbon dioxide emissions. And the exciting developments don't end there, because the Plastics Division will also present bottles in coextruded plastic.
