An Abu-Dhabi based firm has built the first self-storage in the Middle East at a cost of $15 million. The company mainly aims at developing, managing and operating the self-storage facilities for national and international business. The company also has plans of expanding into other Middle Eastern countries. The company feels that the addition of the self-storage will bring in repertoire projects yielding additional income, as well as alternative value added ventures such as infrastructure projects, industrial projects and service oriented developments. The newly developed self-storage plants consisting of two identical buildings providing 1600 self-storage areas built upon an area of 20,000 square meters. Self-storages or otherwise known as spaces available for storage. These can be for official purposes or for individuals. Offices rent a place and use the place for storing goods and products involving their business. They can also be termed as warehouses. When hired by offices stocking up of goods at these warehouses take place and distribution process are one main type of business carried out from self-storage areas that are available in UAE. Sharjah is one of the main cities in the UAE. With constructions projects taking place in the UAE have not spared Sharjah. With new buildings being built office spaces and warehouses are being created for self-storage spaces. The storage units will vary in size from 2 to 30 square meters in order to cater to the differing storage demands of individuals and businesses; from the likes of appliances, furniture, cars, machinery, equipment, and boats, to document files, records, and business archives. Multinational companies also use self-storage systems for their business needs. For example a multinational German courier company needs to store all the parcels that need to be delivered. The diversification from renting options to lease the tenants and the owners sort out priorities in the self-storage ownership have been some of the most in demand enterprises of self storage in UAE .
