Interview Discussion The following interview was held between Edward Morgan Jr (interviewer), Sarah Ingle (observer and question development) and Edward Morgan Sr. (entrepreneur). Edward Morgan Sr. started a company called Revitalize Charging Solutions (RCS) in 2013. RCS specializes in designing electric charging stations and producing them throughout the DFW. Electric charging stations are used to charge electric vehicles just as a gas vehicle would require a person to pump gas. Cars that are fully electric or hybrid are able to charge their vehicle at their convenience. Morgan Sr. has been running the company for three years now so the interview was executed under the impression of a startup company and not a successful/failed business interview. Edward started his career at BellSouth before AT&T bought out the company which he then began working for AT&T. He has had experience with being an entrepreneur when he opened two computer stores in Louisiana. Through his computer stores and current venture, he suggests that people who are self-driven and risk takers are fit to be an entrepreneur. During the interview, I was surprised with how many hours he put in as an entrepreneur. I was able to confirm the idea that being an entrepreneur is not as easy as it seems and that there is no reward without risk. I was able to get insight on the importance of a sales team. He mentioned that not having a great sales team right now is hurting him. I was able to take the answers from various questions of the interview and shape them into my vision for future entrepreneurial success. My career goals at 22 years old is similar to Mr. Morgan’s career goals and the ultimate goal is to work for myself and create jobs for others. Entrepreneurs are needed in the economy because of the simple fact that entrepreneurs create jobs. Some entrepreneurs are in the business to change the world where as others are in to maintain. As technology in the electric car industry increases, the demand for charging station will also increase. The electric car industry is something that affects the entire world. Conclusion From the interview, we’ve concluded that being an entrepreneur is all about having an idea, acting on it immediately, and taking various risk. MJ Gottlieb, co-founder of consulting firm,Hustle Branding, said, "An entrepreneur is someone who can take any idea, whether it be a product and/or service, and have the skill set, will and courage to take extreme risk to do whatever it takes to turn that concept into reality and not only bring it to market, but make it a viable product and/or service that people want or need" (Fernandes).
