Dr. James Tenbusch has more than 35 years of school administration experience in both regular and special education settings. He has been a public school superintendent for the past 20 years and holds a Ph. D. in both Educational Administration and Educational Processes from Northwestern University. Dr. Tenbusch has been recognized nationally for his development and implementation of 1:1 computing initiatives in schools and teacher technology training programs. He is known for creating instructional programs that meet or exceed the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and for his work with students at-risk of academic failure.
Dr. Tenbusch has received much recognition for his development of "customized" instructional programs for high school students using a blend of traditional and online coursework to meet the needs of individual students. Tenbusch believes that "one size does not fit all" when it comes to public schools, and that today's students should not have to leave the digital world they live in just to get an education. He is also among the few educational leaders in the country that has successfully combined a high school curriculum with college coursework, thus enabling students to receive an Associates Degree before the finish high school.
