Author Comment / Biography: Michelle J. Stewart is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and better known as The Nutrition Planner. Founder of Michelle Stewart Consulting & Associates who has been leading the way to a healthier you for more than 25 years. She is zealous when it comes to wellness from the inside out and empowering whomever she comes in contact with to take charge of their health and wellbeing. It is all about balance and moderation, her motto is “EAT LESS MOVE MORE” Michelle is a Certified Diabetes Educator, and also holds certifications in Adult, Adolescent, and Childhood Obesity and is a Certified Wellness Coach. A Master’s In Public Health keeps her abreast of the latest health concerns and on the cutting edge of intervention. Focusing on aging and longevity with a holistic approach to living your best life is her pathway to inner peace and happiness.
An experienced and dynamic public speaker who specializes in the African American community, Ms. Stewart has participated in countless seminars and workshops all over the country. She was a panelist on health care topics at the African American Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. where former Vice President Dick Cheney was the keynote speaker and the Healthy Breakfast keynote speaker at the annual National Newspapers Publishers Association convention in Chicago.
She has presented in numerous symposiums including the national School Nutrition Association and Georgia School Nutrition Association Industry Seminar on Cultural Competency in School Food Service with an emphasis on African American Foodways as well as spoke at Sister Speak Health and Spa Getaway in Bermuda along with Andrea Baptiste from the TV show “The Biggest Looser.” The Heart Truth Campaign in Washington D.C., which was a great opportunity for Michelle to share with the audience education on women and heart disease and its impact on multicultural communities.
Her most recent experiences include several conferences and presentations with the National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ), Radio One - One Love Cruise, and the Black Women’s Health and Beauty Conference. She also writes several health and wellness columns for Black Hair etc. magazine.
Michelle serves on the Board of Directors for Body Mechanics Wellness Foundation and is former Chair, Public Relations for the Florida Dietetic Association. She is a consultant for the food and beverage industry, corporate wellness, weight loss surgery, menu and product development, and has written numerous articles in an array of venues.
