Monday, 04 June 2012 Bureau Veritas has launched a web-based training program to helpcompanies in the shipping industry train their personnel forimplementation of the Maritime Labour Convention. As the deadline for implementation of the Maritime LabourConvention (MLC) 2006 draws nearer, companies in the shippingindustry are becoming increasingly aware of the need to make surethat they are properly prepared, and that their personnel arecorrectly trained. That is why Bureau Veritas has launched itse-learning Introduction to Maritime Labour Convention 2006training, which facilitates the concurrent training of largenumbers of personnel without interrupting their normal workingactivities, in the process reducing the time and cost encounteredwhen using other, traditional learning courses. Introduction to Maritime Labour Convention 2006 training has beendesigned as a first step in MLC-related education. Each module includes aself-test and case study, helping participants to acquire theknowledge necessary to undertake the final test and global casestudy, following which Bureau Veritas attestation is issued.
