The gallbladder is the invisible organ. You never know about it until you really know about it. When does that occur? When it starts showing symptoms of problems and you think your having a heart attack. You aren’t, but it will scare the you know what out of you! The gallbladder is somewhat akin to the appendix. It isn’t useless, but it is an organ we’ve somewhat outpaced based on our lifestyle. The role of the gallbladder is to store bile from the liver. The bile is used to break down fat and other elements of the food you and I eat. It can get diseases with cholesterol build up, sludge and gallstones. All and all, the pain is more than a bit unpleasant. Fortunately, you can live without it and most people have a laproscopic procedure done to remove it. The procedure takes a few hours and you’ll be back on your feet the next day or two. Many people wonder what you can eat afterwards. To be honest, this is mostly because there are a number of horror stories on the web about people having uncontrollable diarrhea, bloating and so on when eating particular foods. This can happen, but it is definitely very rare. Remember, most people who have good results don’t go on the web to report as much! So, what can you eat? Based on my personal experience, you can pretty much eat whatever you like. Fat is really the big issue. I was told to eat a low fat diet the first two weeks. I made a mistake and ate something with a lot of oil in it [Greek salad], and definitely needed to find a restroom if you know what I mean. After a couple of weeks, however, I was fine. Occasionally, I’ll have a small reaction but that is about it. It is such a minor issue with me that I don’t hesitate for a second to order anything or even consider doing it. For many people, a gallbladder problem is a wake up call about their health. You should avoid high fat foods anyway, so perhaps this is your chance to do just that.
