I walked into my local grocery store the opposite day and there was a brand new sign plastered on the entrance doors, right at eye level therefore that no-one may miss it. If my sales are rising, that's a sensible thing. I realize that my margin might be less, however if the retailer is selling more of my product that translates into additional folks are buying MY product and not the competition. Heck, if I am really lucky and my product is flying off the shelves faster than the competitor's, then maybe I'll even get more shelf area (within the manufacturing world that is HUGE). If the buyer tries my product as a result of they got a deal on it, and likes it, they will offer up their traditional Brand and start shopping for mine even without a coupon. Currently my sales are up and my margin is back. TaDah!. Let's return for an instant to cutting my margins. At the top of the year when my account tells me how abundant money I made (and the way much tax I have to pay - however that is another article) my eyes go directly to the NET profit part. When shareholders look at the statements, their eyes go on to the SHAREHOLDER'S DIVIDEND part. Note that not one single shareholder asks "how many bottles of XYZ soap" did we sell this year?" Right now, you could go to at least one of tons of coupon sites and choose plenty of coupons for household product and a few food or pet products. Pick the coupons you wish and they will 'snail mail' you the coupon you ordered. Here's my problem with that. Whereas it's great to save lots of money, once I want to try to to my laundry, you can bet I'm not waiting per week or so to urge the coupon for laundry detergent...I need it NOW. There are lots of web sites that you'll be able to attend and immediately print the coupons off at your own computer. Generally speaking, these ads are for smaller, local businesses where you can save at your favorite native restaurant or mechanic, etc. Now these guys don't care if you print one coupon or a hundred. If you would like to travel to Crabby Joe's with a coupon each day for a year, they're going to be glad to determine you. Why would not they?
