Most people want glasses which are comfortable, lightweight and stylish. If you have a relatively strong prescription you might have always found it necessary to wear glasses which are heavy and have a think concave or convex lens. These thick lenses are difficult to match with more lightweight frames, leaving you with less choice when it comes to choosing your eyewear. Thick lenses are also heavy and are more uncomfortable, putting more pressure on your nose. However it is not essential that those requiring strong prescription lenses have to wear think and heavy lenses. Bi Aspheric lenses are the thinnest lens available and can be worn by anyone with any strength of prescription. This means it is no longer a necessity for those of you with stronger eye defects, to wear uncomfortable and unattractive glasses. Lenses work by refraction. When light passes through the lens, the light bends because of the concave or convex curve. If you have a stronger prescription, the light needs to be refracted to a higher degree in order to correct your vision. With traditional lenses, the thicker the lens, the higher the rate of refraction which is why people with weaker eyesight traditionally require thicker lenses. However, Bi Aspheric lenses are made of a special plastic which refracts light very efficiently. Because this material is more efficient at refracting light, less lens material is needed to correct vision. It has become possible for people with very weak eyesight to wear the thinnest lenses and yet to experience perfectly corrected vision. People wearing these thin lenses can often experience problems with light reflection. This can be dangerous whilst driving so it is necessary to coat your lenses. This anti reflective coating will allow you to wear your thinnest lenses whilst driving without risking the safety of yourself and others whilst driving.
