How many times have you promised yourself you were never going to be lazy about your health again, only to sleep in the next morning instead of getting up to work out? It's easy to make resolutions and promises but it's difficult to keep them, especially when it comes to fitness. In fact, staying consistent in exercise is the number one problem that people have with staying healthy. It's pretty typical human behavior to want to take the easy way out instead of walking the hard road, and consistent exercise is definitely not easy. But fortunately it is possible to train your mind and body to overcome that way of thinking. Here are a few ways to train yourself to stay consistent in your workouts. First, write down your fitness goals. It's not enough to tell yourself that you're going to run five miles tomorrow. You need to write it down. Writing it down helps solidify it in your mind. It's not as easy to talk yourself out of it later when you have a visual reminder of what you need to do. Another good way to stay consistent is to have someone your have to answer to. When we are the only person involved in our fitness, it's easier to let things slide. If you involve someone else in your fitness then it adds a certain amount of accountability. A good way to accomplish this is to workout with a friend or to join a fitness boot camp with trained instructors that can help you achieve your fitness goals. Following these easy steps will make a huge difference in your fitness consistency. We feature unique programs, including personal training, post rehab training, an outdoor Portland boot camp , and a large variety of exciting and challenging fitness classes.
