Many of these tubs can be filled with a garden hose and drained by siphon. Other hot tubs have external drain ports that will allow the owner to attach a garden hose and drain the water away from the shell of the tub. Some hot tubs have jets which offer different types of massage action for the occupants. These are very popular for therapeutic use as well as general relaxation. The capacity of hot tubs varies widely and is usually expressed in how many persons can occupy the tub at once. Hot tubs are generally available for 2 persons up to 10 persons. It may be helpful know the water capacity of these tubs. It can take an average of 480 gallons of water to fill a 5 to 6 person hot tub. You may also want to consider the number of jets and the types of seats available in hot tubs as this may limit the way you use the tub. If you are looking for a tub you can recline in, for example, it will be important to shop for hot tubs that offer lounge seats. The jets are usually very strategically placed, however, so it may be a good idea to sit in the tub before purchase to see if the jets will reach the areas you want them to hit.
