Toyota Kirloskar Motors has declared that it will postpone the launch of its Etios Liva, the hatchback. Toyota had earlier aimed to reveal the Liva by April 2011, but according to the maker, it is now will be presented only in the month of June 2011. Toyota said that the saloon is at present facing a waiting point of as long as 6 to 8 months & the backlog is growing. Etios saloon car is being manufactured at twenty five vehicles per month which the company strategy to double up to 5k vehicles with adding a second move to cope with the need. Toyota will launch the Etios Liva when the backlog of its Saloon is absolved. Etios Liva car will be powered with 1200 cc engine rising around 80bhp. The bantam heaviness 890 kilogram hatchback promises great functioning without compromising the fuel efficiency. Inner space is related to the Etios saloon & therefore the Liva promises to become the top spacious hatchback in its segment. Toyota India plans to launch 1400 cc engine at a later phasefor both of the Etios Liva & Etios saloon. This diesel will be same as the one like the Corolla diesel but it is unlikely to obtain the same (VGT) variable geometry turbo. Instead a permanent geometry turbo developing around 70 bhp is likely to be in use as this will present better fuel use &charge less than the VGT. There is also a talk of introducing that the saloon ?s 1500 cc 88.7 bhp petrol motor in the Etios Liva at a later period to spice up the Etios Liva?s quite tame personality. Toyota never expected how successful the Etios would be in India and now are facing a serious capacity crunch for the auto The company has a massive arrange list for the Etios and cannot finish the instructions immediately. It would take atleast 8 months to release all the cars to consumers who booked their admission level sedan. Thus the company is scheduling a exclusive offer to the people in queue with an choice to shift to the Etios Liva (the hatchback version of the Etios). The Toyota Etios Liva will be launched in March and Toyota is considering increase of the production of all the variants of the Etios to make sure timely delivery. The cause for Toyota considering to alter Etios customers to the hatchback on their approval is due to rising competition. The only remaining thing Toyota wants is customers shifting to alternative brands by canceling their bookings. Thus people who have already booked the Etios will get priority delivery if they plan to change to the Etios Liva. Toyota?s Bangalore manufacturing facility can manufacture 70,000 vechiles of the Etios sedan and Liva hatchback in the first year. This comes at an investment of Rupees 3200 crore.
