The major difference between glue-down vinyl tile and self-adhesive tile is simply that self-adhesive tile comes with the adhesive already applied to the back of the tile, while glue-down tile is installed using a glue or adhesive that comes separate from the vinyl tile. Self-adhesive vinyl tile works a little bit like a sticker. So, once your floor is prepped for the tiles, you can simply peel the paper backing off the self-adhesive tile, exposing the glue, and place it on the floor. When it comes to glue-down vinyl tile, you have to first apply the adhesive to the floor, and then the tiles have to be laid into the adhesive. Both types of vinyl tile, glue down and self adhesive, are available in a variety of looks and colors. Vinyl flooring can look very similar to several other kinds of flooring that you could place in your home. This is one of the major advantages of using tile in your home. There are several manufacturers who produce vinyl tile, and so many different patterns and styles that you can most definitely find a vinyl tile pattern and color that suits exactly the style for which you are looking. Though there are countless designs, styles, and patterns of vinyl tile floors, a few examples of the possibilities are listed here. If you want your kitchen floor to look like stone, there is a style of vinyl flooring that looks like stone. If you want your bathroom to look like tile, you can purchase the vinyl tile flooring that looks like tile. If you want your living room to look like hardwood floors, you can install vinyl tile flooring that looks like wood floors. You can even purchase vinyl tile flooring that looks like cement, if you are so inclined. Vinyl flooring can be applied to any room of your home. Common areas for vinyl tile flooring would include the kitchen, bathroom, and entry way. It is amazing the transformation that can be made to the look and feel an entire room simply by putting in a new floor. Vinyl is an excellent way to put that new flooring into any room of your home. This is particularly true due to the fact that you can give any room a new floor in a short amount of time, even if you have a limited budget; self-adhesive vinyl tile will especially make the process quick and easy.
