Nobody wants to bring home or bring up a noisy, troublesome, disobedient dog. It`s very frustrating to have a dog that barks constantly, pees where ever he feels or jumps all over friends or family members. Here are a few tips that will help turn your beast into a courteous member of the family. Start with the basics, sit, stay and heel. Often once they learn the basic commands, it opens the door for him to learn more commands. Your dog needs to know how to walk on a leash properly without pulling. This can be not only annoying but also not good for your dog’s body. Another must is how to understand and obey the word NO. Without these basics, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to teach him anything more. Once they have learned how to walk nicely, and the meaning of no, the next this to teach them is how to sit. You will find the rest of the training goes much easier when they listen to what you tell them. Teach them to stay at this point as well. These small steps towards training will show who is the boss. You must establish yourself as the dominant one and guide them in the direction you want to take them. Once you establish your dominance you will find that training them anything in the future will be much easier. Not only does this training benefit you and your way of life, it enhances the dog’s life as well. He will learn to be more confident when he learns new things as well as feeling stronger and more intelligent than before. They will feel at peace and relaxed knowing that you are in charge and will protect them as well. Their health (and yours) will improve with added exercise and outdoor activities. Always give them a small healthy treat when they perform well, and a firm but gentle scolding when they disobey.
