How To Save On Premiums

Finance & Investment
Everyone has to agree to a surplus of some kind, if a car insurance policy is always there, how the system works. Basically, this means that if you have an accident and your car must be repaired, you must pay a certain amount on the bill. If the accident is your fault, you lose the money. The accident is not your fault, third-party insurer reimburses you for the overpayment. If your car is written off, then your insurance company will deduct your excess from the compensation.

Things are not always that simple but unfortunately there are a number of drivers on British roads that do not have insurance, so the question is, what happens to your claim if you have an accident with an uninsured driver have?

The 1988 Road Traffic Act, § 143 clearly states that all drivers on British roads have insurance for the vehicle they are traveling have. The point of insurance is that if you have an accident and it is your fault, you have the means to have to cover the cost of damage caused by your insurance. It is a sad fact that a significant minority of drivers choose not to bother with the insurance companies, apart from British law and save itself hundreds of pounds a year running. Someone has to pay for these drivers, and it is the people that have to do insurance companies who pay the piper!

The Department of Transportation estimates, insured that no less than 5% of drivers are not on the vehicle they are traveling. Statistics also show that non insured drivers are often involved in an accident. There is a growing trend and is very difficult to eliminate. If you have an accident, you can not at fault, and the third party is not insured, then you will be reimbursed by the Motor Insurers Bureau. Who financed them? The car insurance industry! That's where some of your inflated premiums end up. You will also find that you have to pay the agreed excess yourself, nobody will be able to repay you.

Here's the low-down on the basics of "surplus":

Mandatory deductible, this is the amount that the insurance than the minimum amount that you must pay the cost of the damage yours. This has been agreed from the outset and depends on a few details you include your age and your driving. For example, if you are older and a clean driving record, you can pay only a minimum of 50. Those with a checkered driving history, or those who did not drive for very long, must agree to pay realistic to 500 bar. The average for most drivers is 100

Deductible is the amount beyond the minimum requirements "mandatory" by the amount insurers are prepared to pay is set. This is an opportunity to lower your premium, because if you can agree to a large surplus, then the insurance company knows that it does not pay as much, if you need to make a claim. It is one of the few that fire ways of saving a few pounds on a car insurance policy, but you may not be offered the choice, it depends on the individual insurer.

The garage is not repaired my car back until I give them a check for, more that is what usually happens?

This is completely normal and you will have to pay, and then the money back from the third party insurer. Always give the car a good once over to make sure that the repairs have been completed satisfactorily. You must keep the receipt to get the excess back to the insurer, and only if they deny the charges, get a copy of the repair schedule so the insurer can see exactly what work was completed on your vehicle.
