There are plenty of reasons why people might be moving to Victoria BC; often it’s the simple desire to enjoy the benefits that come with living in Victoria. Compare that to the rest of Canada! Climatological bliss aside, Victoria has a lot to offer to newcomers. The growing economy entices many to move to Victoria for work. There are jobs available across many sectors including tourism, government and related support jobs (Victoria is the capital of BC), a booming tech sector and many other diverse opportunities. The military base, CFB Esquimalt presents career options both for military personnel and the industries that support and supply the military. Moving to Victoria for Military relocation brings a frequent influx of new families to the Greater Victoria area. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is another career choice that regularly requires employees to relocate for work.
