If you're one of those avid Paula Abdul fans who are just dying to see her one the dance floor once again, then you might just be able to do so in the sixth and upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Louis Van Amstel, one of the professional dancers on the show, recently told TV Guide that the 45-year-old Grammy-winning artist has expressed a great interest in being a celebrity participant on Dancing with the Stars. "I thought she meant as a singer," Van Amstel said. "But she said, no, she wants to be a contestant. She wants to dance." Upon hearing the news, Dancing with the Stars executive producer Conrad Green said that "it's a great story, potentially," but that he wasn't sure about what FOX, the network carrying American Idol, had to say about it. However, Van Amstel said that Abdul told him that she isn't necessarily contractually obligated to shy away from other shows such as Dancing with the Stars. "Paula told me that contractually, she can do whatever she wants," Van Amstel stated. "FOX has no hold on her." Despite this, Green said that they still have to consider if Paula Abdul should be part of the show's list of contenders next season. "The only thing we've ever said that really excludes people is if they have had professional ballroom or Latin training," Green said. "But with Paula, this is a real gray area. If it gets to the point where you've been a full-time choreographer — that it's been a job, a stage in your life — that's really pushing it, isn't it? I do think the other contestants would probably find it unfair if Paula Abdul came on. That would be like having Michael Jackson saying that he wanted to dance on our show." Season 6 of Dancing with the Stars is set to hit the airwaves soon, and a number of names have already been circulating as a few the potential celebrity contestants. These names include Will and Grace star Sean Hayes, Donald Trump's ex Marla Maples (Ex-Wives Club), and even presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
