Wind energy is an exciting technology that offers a secondary source of power through the renewable and unpredictable power of natural wind. As you can see, wind energy is an incredible technology that has been around for thousands of years and is still being perfected by modern science. Wind is everywhere. In some States, like Wyoming, it seems that wind is a constant struggle while in other States a calm day might be the norm. No matter where you live, however, you will experience strong or constant winds at least some days out of the year. This widespread occurance of wind is what makes wind power such a promising technology. We will never run out of wind! However, wind power can never be a replacement for natural gas. This is because wind is unpredictable and unreliable. As technology improves and we are able to create less expensive turbines wind energy will become a greater part of our lives, but we must continue to research for other renewable energy sources that are more reliable than wind.
