Stainless steel is a steel alloy with 11% chromium. Another method of cleaning a stainless steel sink is by using hot water and bleach. First, close the drain of the sink and fill it with hot water. After ten minutes, add one cap full of bleach to the water. Keep the water for one or two hours, so as to allow the stains and dirt to soften. Drain the water and scrub the sink using a soft brush or toothbrush. Use cold water to rinse and wipe dry with paper towel. Always make it a point to rinse the kitchen sink after use and wipe dry with clean cloth. Thorough cleaning should be done once a week. Don't use a steel wool pad or any abrasive scrubbers to clean the sink, as they can cause scratches on the surface of your sink.
