She was also charged with the unlicensed operation of a vehicle in a two-car accident that killed a Centereach man. Pendzick hit the vehicle being driven by Imran Rehman, 20, as he was attempting a left turn onto Route 25, according to police reports. The man was transported to a Long Island hospital, but was declared dead upon arrival. Police promptly arrested Pendzick, who will be arraigned at a later date. In addition to the drug charge, she could also face manslaughter or negligent homicide charges pending the conclusion of the police investigation and toxicology reports. The unfortunate loss of life in the accident is tragic. However, it is also tragic when someone is wrongfully convicted of a drug crime. There are any number of factors that could have led to the accident between Pendzick and Rehman that do not include drug use.
