MLM Tips for Managing Your Downline If you expect to have success in network marketing, you cannot do it alone. You must have a team. And, as with any other team, your network marketing downlines require some management. Left without it, any growth will presumably go nowhere or leave the business altogether. Unfortunately, though it's an easy idea to get the hang of, it isn't always that easy to successfully do. By implementing these network marketing tips with your downline, you could develop your business faster and stronger. To begin with, you want to know the three types of distributors that represent your downline: 1. Distributors From Hell. Those are the ones that totally suck the life out of you constantly. They're the dark clouds that have no business in this business. They come to events and make a fuss. They're never without excuses. The products aren't good, their sponsor didn't call back quick enough. You name it, they'll complain about it. They will abuse most of your time if you don't stop them. The easiest suggestion is to not sponsor them in the first place. But if they manage to get in your downline, DO NOT focus too much of your day on them. Don't dive into this trap! You will never fix them. Ever. 2. The Rank and File Downline Distributors. By far, the biggest number of your distributors are going to be ones who range from barely interested to fully inspired, but not necessarily superstars. This is in fact fine. Collectively, that is the foundation of your organization. So you have to be smart about your time. Offer adequate support so that they have the chance to flourish, but be careful not to do all of it for them. Because they may not be quite skilled in network marketing, they might call on you to close all their sales, handle all their computer work and work on all their problems. You have to train, help and empower them, but demand that they cultivate their own experience. Conduct team classes and encourage webinar attendance so that they grasp how to do things on their own. Be completely present for them, but remember that you are not their secretary or customer service department! 3. The Builders. These are those few, honest to goodness go-getters who take charge of their business and do anything it takes to make it work, no matter what. We adore them. But remember! It is a frequent management mistake to focus on the less capable, because they are the ones that need the help. Builders are self-sufficient, so they don't require your constant attention, right? Wrong! A typical example: You have 2 distributors in your downline for a while. Distributor A brings on 1 person, and Distributor B sponsored 5. You're working really hard with Distributor A to get him his 2nd one, figuring that he only needs one more to get going. Before recognizing it, you make Distributor B secondary, because she's doing great and doesn't require any hand-holding. But think about it. If you spend your time doubling Distributor A's achievement, you'll add 1 distributor to your downline. Double Distributor B's success and you'll add 5. And in case you didn't know, 5 new distributors developing your business is more valuable than 1. Focus For Success As your downline organization grows, you will begin to get busy. Focus one-on-one and give regular attention to your Builders, support and expand your Rank and File, beware of your time sucking Distributors From Hell and watch your downlines grow strong.
