As women being the delicate creature of the world are at verge of developing breast cancer any time in life so there must be some ways to protect them from this deadly disease. Efforts have been made in this regard to prevent the disease completely, but still there is no way for prevention; however the focus is now on reducing the risk to develop it and making early detection possible. Early detection is emphasized in case of breast cancer because it increases the survival chances and the cancer can be treated successfully. How to Detect Cancer Early?> Early detection of cancer is probable by staying in touch with breast on regular basis because several changes take place in breasts over the time which may lead to the development of cancer and these unusual changes are essential to detect at initial stage as this cancer spreads at fast pace and can affect the neighboring areas as well if not diagnosed on right time. Breast exam is the best way to stay in touch with breast as there are different types of exam such as clinical examination, self examination and breast screening, although all these types of exams are necessary for women but some are age specified such as screening. It is used to detect cancer in older women as it is a common fact that age is one of the major risk factors to develop breast cancer. Clinical examination is evaluation of breasts during routine check up or it can be scheduled separately as well. Clinical examination can be defined as physical examination as well because it does not include any diagnostic test to catch the symptoms of disease. It is just the matter of observation to notice the unusual changes through visual and manual method so that anomalies of the structure and appearance can be observed promptly. Self examination is another choice of women to stay in touch with breasts regularly as it is not a diagnostic method; however it is just a method to enlighten awareness as it includes understanding of the breast structure including salient features of size, shape, skin color, nipple position, skin changes, breast anomalies, possible treatment options etc. Women are advised to perform self exam once in a month when breasts are in normal position and not having any usual and unusual changes. A week after the start of menstruation women should check breasts to ensure good health and to locate abnormalities, although breast aware women can do it effectively so self exam is appreciated for this reason that it enhances women confidence to know what is normal for them , how their breasts look and feel normally. Breast screening is also another method to stay in touch with breasts for older women as this is the method to catch cancer earlier when it can be managed easily, it detects cancer a long time ago its symptoms come to the scene. Older women are at higher risk to develop cancer so screening is advised to start at the age of 50 normally, but in case of high risk factors it can be started earlier as well.
