How to travel around in Malaysia

Planning a trip to the famous destinations involves different aspects to ponder about. The weather, expenditure, place to stay, what to do and where to eat. You would definitely want to roam about and pay a visit to the popular spots for which the place is famous for. If you have planned this vacation to be spent in Malaysia, then you most probably must be wondering how you will roam about here and there so you don’t miss out on anything. There are many ways in which you can do so and it doesn’t involve much of money spending.

Various modes of transport

One can reach Malaysia from a different country by air, road or sea. Most common way is by air and various international airports are located at Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Kuantan and other cities in Malaysia. For travelling by sea or road, various ports and roads have been laid down. Inside Malaysia, you can easily roam about with the availability of a first-rate transport infrastructure. You can travel through train, by road, air or sea. Here is a brief guide of how you can move about easily in Malaysia.

Travelling by air

You can find many airlines running in Malaysia that will easily take you anywhere you want to go around the country. It connects you to all the major cities and towns like Kuala Lumpur or also from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore and Thailand.

Travelling by Train

This is the most common mode of public transport. It is convenient and exceptionally comfortable and one of the best modes to move out from place to place. It is also the most preferred choice of the locals.

Travelling by road

Travelling by road has the advantage of visiting those cities that are linked only through roads. You can easily hire a car in Malaysia. If you wish to drive yourself here, then you must know that left hand driving is what is allowed in cars here and you need an international driving license to do so.

Travelling through other common public transport

This is yet another common and preferred mode of transport for moving about in Malaysia. The bus service is available if you want to move from one major city to another. For instance you can hire the bus to Butterworth or the bus to Shah Alam easily by booking the tickets conveniently on the internet. For roaming in a particular city, one can travel through coaches that are extremely comfortable. You can also hire taxis and trishaws for the same.

Travelling by sea

Travelling through sea is not only fun but also worth the experience of moving around the city. You can go from one island to another and enjoy a fantastic ferry ride. You can get in touch with some of the local tour agents and get to experience a river or sea cruise if you’re lucky. So there are innumerable ways in which you can comfortably travel around in Malaysia and it all depends on which one you prefer.
