Usually the crowd sourcing sites act as a medium or we say in media terminology as 'intermediate person'. They are not a person, but they still act as the intermediate object. That is, when the project is posted on freelancing websites. People start to bid on the project, and it gets awarded very soon. This is just one positive point of these crowd sourcing websites. There are many others, but I will only explain those which are very much related to the graphic design industry. 1. Arbitration: Crowd sourcing sites act as an arbitrator when there is a conflict between the buyer of services and the provider of those services. What they do is, when a project is posted by the company or the requester to crowd sourcing sites. They take the total money from him and keep it till the completion of the job. If the client, that is the company, does not like the work, it can file a dispute to the crowd sourcing site, which then decide about the money depending on the project completion. 2. Affordability: Crowd sourcing sites have the best rates available, because they allow the crowd to name their work price. And it also helps the companies to choose the right and most affordable people for the job. For example a real-estate logo design needs to be designed for a website the website posts the project on crowd sourcing website. Now, the crowd (logo design maker) will start to bid of the project. What I am telling here is that the ball always remains in the court of company.
