It was constructed by by Ann Hessing, wife of the Dutch Soldier after his death in 1803 A.D. Mariam's Tomb Located to the west of Akbar's tomb in Sikandra, it is the resting place of Mariam Zamani, a Rajput princess from Amber and wife of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. An excellent architectural masterpiece, the structure is a perfect blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic and Buddhist architecture. Originally a Baradari, it was renovated and stylized into a tomb. Red Sandstone facade, panels adorned with geometrical floral patterns and Ornamental octagonal towers are the main features of the structure. Mehtab Bagh Originally built by Emperor Babur long before the Taj was conceived, Mehtab Bagh or the Moonlit Garden have been reconstructed in the recent years and is one of the best places to view the mausoleum.
