Canadian Orebodies Inc announced its plans for the upcoming 2012exploration season on the Belcher Islands, Nunavut. Beginning inJune, the Company intends to evaluate a number of high priorityexploration targets in the areas around Haig Inlet on the BelcherIslands. The company plans to conduct the exploration drilling thisseason in two phases: wide-spread exploration holes on 3 separatetargets, followed by infill drilling on the areas which would bemost amenable to developing an open-pit mineral resource. Mr Gordon McKinnon President and CEO of Canadian Orebodies said"This summer's exploration program will form part of a definingyear for the Company and the Haig Inlet project, as we continuetoward our goal of establishing the Belcher islands as Canada'snext iron ore district. We are targeting 3 very large and highlyprospective areas to show the wide spread iron formations on theBelcher Islands. The goal for this year is to establish a newdeposit to be brought into a 43-101 resource, all while we advancethe Haig Inlet deposit through our planned technical studies." Three Large Untested Targets to be Drilled Goal of Establishing NewDeposit The company has identified three large untested target areas thathave been selected for drilling during the 2012 explorationprogram. Each target was selected for having the highest potentialto host near surface iron mineralization that may be amenable toopen pit mining. 1. Target 1 - Haig West Property Exploration in the 1950's by the Belcher Mining Corporation Ltd.included a number of regional magnetic surveys which identified acontinuous magnetic anomaly along the western shore of FlahertyIsland. In the fall of 2011, Canadian Orebodies staked 13 claims tocover this geophysical target, which lies approximately 10km to thewest of the Haig Inlet Project. The magnetic anomaly containedwithin this claim group extends approximately 29.4km in anorth-south direction and is coincident with a single exposure ofthe Kipalu Iron Formation mapped in 1959. The Company plans toinitiate exploration of the stratigraphy on western Flaherty Islandin 2012 with a magnetic survey followed by widely-spaced drillholes. 2. Target 2 - Kihl Bay Anticline The second target is located to the northeast of Haig Inlet and iscomprised of relatively closely spaced anticlines and synclinesplunging north. The Company believes the anticlines may elevate theKipalu Iron Formation stratigraphy proximal to surface, as thesefolds are well defined by the Aster satellite imagery workcompleted by Wickert in 2007. Although the iron formation is notexposed in this area, Orebodies is excited about the possibilityfor significant additional iron mineralization near surface. 3. Target 3 - Haig North Extension The third target for further exploration is the northward extensionof the Kipalu Iron Formation, which runs north for an additional 17kilometers from the northern most 2011 drill holes. Only two areasof iron formation outcrop have been examined along this trend. Oneoccurs near the extreme north end of the property and another nearthe North Western most 2011 drill holes. Exposures in both areasare comprised of Fe-rich argillite and dip towards the east. TheCompany plans to drill widely-spaced holes along this 17km trend. Haig Inlet Deposit to be advanced by Mineralogical andMetallurgical Studies In the coming weeks, the Company plans to begin advancing itstechnical knowledge of the Haig Inlet deposit by undertakingmineralogical and metallurgical studies. Canadian Orebodies is alsopleased to announce the appointment of SGS in Lakefield to conductmetallurgical testing using samples taken from the Company's HaigInlet project. The goal of the testing is to provide an analysis ofweight recoveries and concentrate grades. This process is criticalin helping to assess the overall quality of the product that wouldbe produced from the project. Mr Gordon McKinnon President and CEO of Canadian Orebodies said "Weare focusing on extensive testing now given the importance ofmetallurgy to our future customers. We hope to show in short orderthat a favourable product could be created from the ore at HaigInlet." Source - Canadian Orebodies.
