This question has to be on of the most popular questions asked by golfers who are looking to buy a golf gps unit from a golf gps website, so which unit really is the best of the two and the one thats worth splashing the cash on this Summer?Well this review would not be complete unless we looked at the pros and cons of BOTH units before we gave our final opinion. So lets take a look first off at the garmin g6 or skycaddie sgxw's ability to change the golfers game by their graphics. The garmin g6 is perhaps the less traditional of the 2 golf gps units as it comes in with some less traditional aspects such as the smaller than average screen which measures in at less than the skycaddie sgxw. An overall smaller screen size means the unit has a more compact size which of course enables easy viewing if its placed in your pocket. The garmin g6 also benefits from the ability to be used with either buttons or touch screen as standard which will really help the golfer out on the golf course. The main other benefit of the garmin g6 is that it comes complete with no added membership fees that really means your getting your monies worth when you are paying less than £250 for this classic piece of golf gps kit. The skycaddie sgxw does in fact have some drawbacks when you compare it directly to the garmin g6, for example its also got less clear images than the skycaddie sgxw so its not quite as good or easy to read when your out and about in bright lights. The fact the garmim g6 comes complete with a transreflective screen as standard means its the ideal choice for the golfer looking to get a great all round golf gps unit that ticks all the boxes and is the perfect choice for any sunny weather we get here in the UK. The skycaddie sgxw is a good unit but a little outdated now and we have to say there are other units that we would recommend above the skycaddie sgxw. Whilst a few years ago this unit was at the top of its game today its less appealing and we would have to say the skycaddie sgxw is now beaten to its place at the top of the golf gps leader board by the formidable garmin g6 golfgps unit.
